| "Generation Used to Be" It used to be your friend was really your friend when I was young Mothers taught their daughters and fathers taught their sons It used to be o.k. to walk to school and stop to tell a stranger the directions Now when we vote we are confused and we even question the elections It used to be that sitting down at dinner as a family was valued time together Nowadays days it is a rarity if the original family unit has survived the stormy weather It used to be that our elderly were taken care of and treasured by the family unit Nowadays it is seen at as a burden and the nursing homes and paid help are left to do it It used to be that someone would stay home to raise our treasured future Nowadays better luck getting with an older mate because young is not necessarily pure It used to be that a man took pride in being a man by taking care of his flesh Nowadays he will fool around although married but stay because he’ll pay less It used to be that teachers were held in high respect and their life was a good example Nowadays some are not qualified and when sex is needed they use our kids as samples It used to be that people were kind and nice to their neighbors and we all did get along Nowadays it is hard even for the choir members in a church to agree to sing a song It used to be that when a girl got pregnant while in school, she married or was sent away Nowadays she’ll stay put because of all the lawsuits filed up to this day It used to be that a man was excused for his infidelity as boys will just be boys Nowadays some die like flies trying to stay hard and women still resort to their toys It used to be that you could retire from a job and be able to live a life of peace Nowadays consider it a blessing if you earn a pension before you are deceased It used to be a Christian could get a Christian from the church and not consider what each other was Nowadays it is a gamble because of the down low factor so some may do better at the club One thing remains constant: God is God yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Oh fellas, you think you prefer that other lady instead of your God given wife?
When your urine burns like fire, will you have the decency to tell your wife?

| "Obedience Is Far Better" Oh how, I wished I had obeyed Gods word from the beginning Listened to His Holy Spirit instead of ignoring it and sinning I am reminded each day of what I do wrong How long will I have to endure this sad song? Love kept from me like I did not deserve it What I bargained for is not what I did get I wish over and over that I had obeyed Gods word Instead, it was my heart that I heard Now the beat of my heart is hurt and pain And the burn of desire almost drives me insane My own beliefs in God are used as a weapon against me My eyes were once blinded by human love, but now they do see My devotion and commitment was not appreciated Lack of love in return, revenge and vindication was not anticipated Oh how, I wished I had obeyed Gods word from the beginning Listened to His Holy Spirit instead of ignoring it and sinning If anyone is listening, please hear what I say Choose God now and serve him today He will give you the desires of your heart But you must seek to serve Him from the very start Study to show yourselves approved Let your testimony not be moved Read the Bible precept upon precept and line upon line If you do not remember this do it one more time God is not like man that He should lie Just obey what He directs and do not ask Him why Let not pain and suffering be part of your life story Let your goal in this life be to end up with God in glory Gods love is a guaranteed treasure that will always last Choose Him instead of man and he will direct your path Oh how I wished I had obeyed Gods word from the beginning Listened to His Holy Spirit instead of ignoring it and sinning Obedience is far better than sacrifice Copyright©, 2006 by Arene |
There was a hunter who was known as a man’s man. He was kind and gentle yet strong
and robust. He loved to hunt deer as everyone who knew him knew this fact. It was the
thrill of the chase! He would usually go hunting on one of his off week ends. He did not
care if his friends went or not. He loved to hunt. The sheer thrill of finding the deer and
scoping it out gave him a rush that no one could imagine. It was so natural to him. He
thought that it was just part of his nature and he could think of nothing that could take
that away from him.
That is, until one day he did as he usually did: packed his gear and got in his jeep for the
camp grounds to hunt for deer. He was asleep in his tent and was dreaming about
waking early in the morning to scope out the deer. All of a sudden his tent was being
unzipped and to his surprise there stood before him a deer-posing and beckoning him
to take a picture before the kill! The deer even offered to wait until the morning after the
deer set the alarm for the man and snuggle up to keep him warm for the night if he
wanted.
The hunter thought, “What madness is this?” ” Now, I do not even have the desire for
this deer and I will never camp on this ground again if the deer are this easy”. “There is
not a thrill in this for me anymore-I will go else where”!
The moral of this story is: are you that kind of deer ladies?

| “The Biggest Sinner” |
Dorthy, Bertha, Bobbie and Marcella are four sisters who were arguing
about the home work they were to do for the next Bible study. Sister Majors
instructed them to return next week and state who the biggest sinner was
as well as their rational.
Their choices were, Olivia the young lady who continued to have sexual
relations outside wedlock, Debra the young lady who had an abortion,
Pamela the young lady stealing from her parents to maintain her drug
habits, or Mr. Roberts the teacher cheating on his wife with her sister.
The mother listened to them argue their points and each one seemed to
have a rational solid reason why one was the biggest sinner over the other
one; someone would interject with a valid reason why that person was not.
This debate seemed to go on for more than two hours.
Finally, the mother felt she could take no more of her girls arguing and
stated:
“My daughters-you have not learned much”. I have always told you to look
at the bigger picture in things and you are failing to see the big picture”
With their eyes as bright as brushed teeth after eating an apple, the girls
looked at their mother acknowledging she was about to give them some
wise words that would stay with them for the rest of their lives.
Almost simultaneously the girls said “Mother, what are we missing?”
The mother replied: “You are missing the fact that the biggest sinner of all is
a person who has not been forgiven by allowing the blood of Jesus to wash
their sins away, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
The oldest, Dorthy stated “Thank you Mother, you are a wise woman
indeed!”

My daughter's heart was broken as she sobbed the words "mom it really hurts that I
have to suffer for something I know I did not do". This was in response to her losing her
phone privileges.
I knew she did not make the unnecessary charges; however, I gave her my word that if
anything else happened, phone privileges would be revoked. The phone was her
responsibility.
I also reminded her of her growing years when my heart had been broken for the things
she did. I informed her of the poem I had written about 530 in the morning called" Dear
Lord". This is God reminding us how it hurts Him when we say we love him while being
disobedient to His will.
I was able to recite and relate scriptures during this mother daughter moment.
Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee
There has no temptation taken you except that is common to man, but with that
temptation, He will make a way out
Obedience is far better than sacrifice
Honor thy mother and thy father so that thy days may be long upon the earth
Raise a child of in the way that he should go and if he shall depart,he will return
There is a way that seems right to man, but the end there of is death
I then related to my daughter the consistency of God and how man needs that
consistency and how I appreciate it
I realized again I was preaching to myself!
Yeah, lesson learned alright.

This website was born after a friend offered me a page on his website
because he was impressed with my poems feeling they were God directed as
he said "they make sense".
After asking him several questions and having the words implanted in me of
God wants us to be the head and not the tail, I was impressed to start this site.
Some things I do not want to do;on the contrary, being in the belly of the
whale is no fun.
I came from a large family where I was the youngest of 11 girls and four boys.
When I was a child, we did not have all the technology we have
today;therefore, we had plenty of play time outside that included plenty of
exercise. During times when we had to be indoors, we did word games,
puzzles, riddles, stories and things like that. My dad (who was ambidextrous)
was the mechanic, plumber, painter, electrician and the fixer of anything that
needed fixing around the house. I grew up watching him look at something
and then start fixing it. Perhaps he had already seen the manual and had a
visual of how things were to go perhaps not.
This website greatly improved after I accessed the manual to figure out how
to do things. It is still a work in progress.
When it comes to their cars, bikes and technical toys, most men follow the
manual to ensure these things run their best.
God created us and gave us a manual to assist us with total maintenance.
What a blessing it is to be with someone who loves God and lives by the
manual.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are
wonderful, I know that full well.

“Either You Will or You Will Want" Mark 3:23-29 How can Satan cast out Satan and his kingdom still be able to stand? How can a home become a house without the assistance of a man? How can a kingdom be divided against itself and yet remain strong? How can a man respect another woman when he should be at home? How can another enter his house and destroy what he has built? How can a man neglect his duty and then try to displace his guilt? How can a loving God forgive all the evil deeds that are done? How can He mend two hearts that were once united into one? Christ can cover them with His blood and we can start over from today We have to listen to the Holy Spirit because my God cannot and has never lied If the Holy Spirit can not be heard, it has been grieved, or the person has never tried Keep Gods word in your mind, on your lips and most of all in your hearts This is how to stay ahead of temptations and prevent the sin before it starts No matter how small or how large it may be, the wages of sin is death Remember when sin is done by the believer, we crucify Christ afresh We cannot hide it, change it, erase it, or correct it once it is completed Only Christ can stand before the throne for us while we remain seated Once a sin is done, there is nothing we can do as it is inked in stone Only Christ can forgive us for sinning, cover it or say “sin be gone” Copyright© 2007, by Arene |

Dear Lord, how could loving a man turn out to be so wrong?
My child, I have loved you always and never left you alone
Dear Lord, how could someone say to me “I love you” and it not be real?
My child, you say it and then disobey Me and now you know how I feel
Dear Lord, how long will I have to be the only one who is giving?
My child, you concentrate on serving Me as long as you are living
Dear Lord, this burden seems too grievous and hard for me to bear?
My child, keep your eyes on Me and do not fall into Satan’s snare
Dear Lord, I have endured adultery, love of money and so many of his lies
My child, stay faithful and remember before the fall is an abundance of pride
Dear Lord, how could a man treat me with so much bitterness and be so mean?
My child, when My Spirit does not dwell within a man expect any thing to be seen
Dear Lord, I am beaten down from lack of love, my stomach feels twisted like a pretzel
My child, I will love you and lift you up as he did not honor you as the weaker vessel
Dear Lord, how long will it take before this horrible existence is my history?
My child, it will not be long, be patient and soon I will give you the victory
Dear Lord, You are the Truth and have blessed me so many times in my life
My child, I Am anointed you and he did the wrong thing to give you strife
Dear Lord, I can not begin to add what disobeying you have cost
My child, remember My will is that none would have to be lost

My child, when others observe your obedience it is I Am they see

My child, you are anointed, I Am will release you at the time when it is best

My child, My yoke is easy, My burden is light, My love is free and not demanding

“Why You Have to Lie”
I wanted a family to call my own
As I sought to rid myself of feeling alone
I saw pleasing you as my manly duty
Not realizing I was set up with booty
You came at me with seemingly good intentions
I was blind to your cunning ways you forgot to mention
I was a man of the world with so much to offer
I should have left my love stored in the coffer
Many years have gone by and I am lonelier than ever
I will never know peace while we are together
Sometimes I look at you and think what the hell I have done
Like I was attempting to win the race of pain and definitely won
Because of the things you do to disrespect me as a man
My friends tell me to get the hell out as soon as I can
I often wonder why I did not see this trickery before
Your hidden character should have been checked at the door
I wanted a family to call my own
As I sought to rid myself of feeling alone
I wish I could go back to that day
When I sought you out and went out of my way
Thinking that I was doing the right thing
Not knowing I was headed for years of suffering
My good humor and smile hides my pain inside
It’s like running into a brick building with eyes opened wide
I have reached my loves limit and I can not take any more
My heart is still repairable although a little sore
Be proud of yourself girl for finally getting what you earned
I walk away in peace and never will I return
Peace of mind, quiet, gentle, caring and committed love may some day be mine
I know now that it is a gift from God and not for me to try to find
I am out of here-this is it, and I will not be fooled even if you cry

STILL WANT THAT PRAYER FOR THE SPOUSE TO RETURN, EVEN IF IT IS 100 YEARS LATER OR DO YOU WANT PRAYER FOR GOD'S WILL TO BE DONE ?
| If you are not in prison, you kind of got some choices if you want to allow someone to treat you bad or not. As a man thinks, so is he. Ever thought you are the negative magnet drawing those negative people in your life?" You got choices! " When are you going to decide to be happy? Accept responsibility for how you allow someone to treat you. My ex did nothing to me that I did not allow- when I woke up from my slumber, I made a decision and got out of that horrible one sided relationship. I hear men and women alike say 'they do this and they do that' (this is speaking of a negative deal breakers of the significant other. I do not see any bars holding them inside of the co-dependent prison. Truly loving someone is giving them the freedom to love you or not. Truly loving yourself is choosing to be with someone who uses that freedom to love you. Now that is love. P.S. I f you cannot find a good reason to love yourself , why should any one else love you? An abused woman said to me "You seem so strong". I took responsibility for the negativity in my life.
I had to make a decision:
Take a chance being alone for the rest of my life or stay with an ungodly man? He thought he was
irreplaceable! ....And you know how the rest goes!
As a man thinks, so is he. I think, I will be with someone who has a relationship with God first and is
happy and supportive, likes to be with family and friends and does not worship money.
The complaints:
He/she does not respect me
He/she cheats on me
He/she physically abuses me
He/she will not let me...........
He/she..........and so it goes
Self actualization is an eye opening experience!
Deal breakers are deal breakers.
This is why a personal relationship with God is so important.
It is the kind of relationship that others will wonder why:
That man Abraham was willing to sacrifice his only son
That man David was considered a man after Gods own heart
That three Hebrew boys were willing to go to the furnace
That the man called Jesus obediently went to the cross
That lady Arene was able to see her ex do what he did and move on
Study the word of God as he says that if you seek me you will find me if you shall search with all you
heart!
Do some positive affirmations. When you wake up in the morning acknowledge the One who made
heaven and earth and the sea and all that in them is. The positives needed in your life-SET IT OFF!
